It is best not to wear your shoes every day, but instead every third day so the leather has a chance to dry completely. Constant use reduces the life span of your shoes drastically.
Do not overdo the shoe cream! However, the space between the sole and shaft of shoes in the Closed collection should be treated with a suitable shoe polish on a weekly basis to prevent moisture from seeping in. Please note that small scratches can often be treated with matching shoe polish, too. For everything else, less is more! Leather contains natural protective substances. For the occasional care of all plain leather, we recommend Collonil Ultra neutral, a light shoe polish with lanoline.
Dubbin cannot be recommended as it blocks the pores and decreases your feet´s ability to breath. The use of dubbin can also result in colour changes.
Before wearing you nubuk shoes for the first time, please apply a neutral waterproofing spray to make them a little more resilient.

The light colours are particularly delicate, though, and very difficult to clean. Some stains such as grass, water or oil cannot be removed at all.
All leathers are susceptible to leaking dyes, on both sides. Thus please do not wear light coloured socks with dark or coloured shoes and also take care with your clothing.
All leather can stretch. When buying your shoes please make sure that they fit correctly. Also it is always best to wear socks of the same thickness.
If the shoes get wet, please allow them to dry naturally and make sure that they keep their shape by using a suitable shoetree. The use of shoetrees is not recommended for the very soft leather, though. However, above all, never wear your shoes while still wet! Otherwise the leather could stretch dramatically and the shoes could lose their shape beyond repair.

shiny buffalo (bug, glm), calf (lux), as well as goatskin (pek), patent (ven, lam) and crack (crk) leather or all leather with metallic surfaces (waw, sft) are extremely sensitive to surface damages.
Therefore, please keep in mind, especially with children´s shoes, that scratches or other damage to the surface cannot be repaired and only clean these shoes using a soft cloth.
Our elk (elk, mfl) and goatskin (cpr) leather is very soft and pleasant to wear. But it can also stretch quite substantially with wear - especially when the shoes are too loose or too tight. Therefore, please make sure that they fit correctly. If the uppers stretch, please return any wooden shoes made with elk leather immediately for repair. Otherwise the uppers may not offer enough support and accidents cannot be completely ruled out.
These leathers are also extremely sensitive to abrasion and light colours cannot be cleaned. The use of shoe polish can lead to irreversible colour changes especially in the light colours.
